Ratling Sniper Color Scheme

OK, as I write this I realize that I don't have many followers.  I hope that as my army grows, so will my following.  Anyway, for those who are interested and willing, I am looking for an opinion on colors for my ratlings.  I am using the old metal ratlings who were wearing button up coats.  Here is a picture of them. (not mine)
Should I paint them red to match the normal infantry, or with dark green which was the historical color of the Rifle Regiments during the Anglo-Zulu Wars?

My thoughts right now are red just to limit my color palette.  I appreciate any input.

  1. If you are still building your army my plan is to do green rifle regiment (like the 60th) for my ratlings uniforms, but I do love the guys photographed, they look great, I'm almost tempted to change my mind. I honestly don't think there is a wrong answer, either way will look great, just what you prefer is best.

  2. I think Rifle Green would be a good change and easy differentiation. Not that it is hard to tell the difference between ratlings and regular guard...

  3. I know this is an older post but these are outstanding! Absolutely love the fez. I've always been a fan of redcoat light infantry - perhaps giving one a light infantry bugle would be a nice touch?

  4. @Kieran Thanks! I've since (slowly) continued to work on my Praetorians. I'm documenting them here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?139629-Imperial-Guard-An-Edifying-Pictorial-of-Progress

@Honey Beeginnings Great idea, using the Aeronefs as Vendettas! :)
